Message from the British Ambassador to Zimbabwe

New Consular Opening Hours

From 1 April 2014, our consular opening hours were shortened to allow our staff to better focus on our more vulnerable customers.  Consular Section is now open Monday to Thursday from 8.00am – 12.00pm.

Passport Fees

I am sure that the news that passport fees have come down in price will be welcome.  Please visit the attached link to see the updated fees.

 Emergency Travel Documents

Please encourage British citizens to renew their passports in good time to avoid the inconvenience of a renewal/replacement delay and having to pay an additional $162 for an ETD.  Most countries require six months validity on a travel document and at least two clean pages for entry and exit stamps including visas.   The FCO Travel Advice of the countries they intend to visit includes information about entry requirements as some countries do not accept our ETDs.

Teleperformance

Lastly, many of you may have heard that Fedex has been replaced by Teleperformance as our new commercial partner to handle our visa operations starting from 1 April 2014.  You will be pleased to know that the Visa Application Centre can now issue Priority Visas in five working days for an additional £100 equivalent.  Payments and submissions are now done online.
